Discuss This ArticleMyrtle Beach Speedway held a Drift Day in association with Drift Fury on January 13th, 2007. "We were thrilled to see the amount of excitement and young talent that came out to this event, said Michael Meyers President of NOPI Motorsports. This just shows the growth and potential of the sport, and the future with all of the young drivers hungry to compete."
The event came together pretty quick, with not a lot of time to promote it - 2 weeks to be exact. We were not sure what to expect with such notice, but we were happy to see over 39 drivers ready to compete. There was plenty of excitement at the event, with loads of action. In the end, there was only one license awarded, which went to Tim Poulosa. "There was a lot of great drifting at the event, but in the end, there was only one that was able to receive the NOPI Professional Drift License.
We want the Drifting Competition to be tough and very competitive at each NOPI Professional Event. As much as we want drivers to compete, we want quality pro drivers to be able to go head to head, bringing forth an amazing event for the drivers and fans. In saying that, I am sure we are going to be awarding more licenses to Pro Drivers at future events. It's going to be exciting seeing some of the young talent come up through the ranks to possibly become some of America's top Drifters. Who knows, Tim Poulosa could be that guy. I'm excited for Tim and want to welcome him to the NOPI Professional Drift Series." The next Drift Fury event will be held on February 17th at Virgina International Raceway.

The NOPI Professional Drift Series is about to kick off here very soon. You will find the schedule below, so mark your calendars and make sure to be there.
