If you where not able to make the SEMA show, or the NOPI Motorsports Press Conference at SEMA, you missed out big time! The show was one of the biggest we have ever seen, and packed with a ton of excitement. One of the biggest excitements was the announcement from NOPI Motorsports regarding their new Professional Drift Series that will be launching in the 07 season.

The NOPI Press conference happened on Thursday (Nov 2nd) at 3:15. There was a huge mass of people at the NOPI Motorsports booth by 2:45, which added to the excitement and anticipation. Finally Michael Meyers, President of NOPI Motorsports stood at the podium, and gave the fans what they were so patiently waiting for – the new announcement of the NOPI Professional Drift Series.

If you were not able to make it, here were some key points on the series from the press conference.


NOPI Professional Drift Series

• There will be 8 events for Drifting next year. This will be a professional series that will have a points race.

• Drifters will be able to compete for $10,000.00 per event.

• 2 out of 8 of the Drift events will be teamed up with the NDRA series, for double the pleasure.

• You can expect a high energy event that NOPI is always well known for. The entertainment value will be at an all time high.

• NOPI Motorsports is happy to be apart of the growth of Drifting. They have teamed up with Drift Furry www.driftfurry.com to create a Pro Am series, where young Drifters can have a place to learn how to compete and hone their skills to become professionals. This is also where Drifters will compete for their professional license, which is needed to compete in the NOPI Professional Drift Series.

• Media coverage will be at an all time high. The excitement behind the new Professional Drift Series is unparallel. NOPI Motorsports will work very close with all media outlets to make sure there is proper coverage of the NOPI Professional Drift Series.

• The World Finals for the Professional NOPI Drift Series will be held at the world famous NOPI Nationals in Atlanta Georgia that the Atlanta Motor Speedway. NOPI Motorsports is anticipating this to be the largest Drift event in the U.S. With all of the media on hand at the NOPI Nationals, along with over 100,000 fans, this is one event that will make history!

• Something that was not addressed at the podium, but was addressed after the announcement was the involvement of NOPI TV. We are excited to talk about NOPI TV, and the involvement with Speed Channel. NOPI TV has been very successful over the years, and with the new news of the NOPI Professional Drift Series, we are confident that it will only get better. NOPI TV is very excited about the new NOPI Professional Drift Series, and will be covering the events on NOPI TV aired on the Speed Channel.

The NOPI Professional Drift Series will be coming to a big city near you!
